Modularized Enamel Plate Hot Air Preheater Corrosion Resistance Flue Gas Air Preheater
As a gas-gas heat exchanger, the enamel Plate Preheater is mainly featured by that plate exposed to heat transfer medium are all enameled, so that it can be applied in cases with potential hazard of low temperature corrosion where the plate preheaters constructed with stainless steel or other material are not applicable. As a new type of air preheater integrated with high efficiency heat transfer performance of plate air preheater and ultra corrosion resistance performance of enameled surface, it is ideal for high efficient waste heat recovery of low temperature (﹤200℃) flue gas. It has a wide prospect in the fields of energy-saving upgrade of boilers, heaters and the improvement of thermal efficiency of furnaces. It excels other similar plate air preheater in the comprehensive economic performance and service life
Arranged in the waste heat recovery system of heater, the Enamel plate air preheater receives the hot flue gas generated from the heater to pre-heat the air before it is delivered to the stainless steel plate preheater and at the same time, it cools the flue gas down to below 100℃ before it is discharged from the chimney.
Other than the advantages of conventional plate type preheater, such as high efficiency heat transfer and low fouling, the enamel plate preheater also boasts the following advantages:
1) Excellent corrosion resistance and extended service life
The enameled channel outside the plate tube (flue gas side) of the air preheater is produced with special enamel process assuring no pinholes on the enameled surface and provides excellent corrosion resistance.
2) High efficient heat exchange and compact size
The plate sheet is stamped with multiple dimples optimized by numerical simulation and can establish turbulence even at low Reynolds number. Therefore, the heat transfer performance is greatly improved and the size of equipment is reduced.
3) Lower flow resistance
The specific plate type of flow channel matches up the pressure drop at gas side and air side perfectly other than increasing heat transfer coefficient. The of enamel plate sheet has a smooth surface enabling little soot to accumulate and provides straight channel, more flow area and shorter flow distance, which means less resistance for the gas and air flow inside and outside the plate tube.
4) Easy cleaning
The enamel plate sheet accumulates little soot and resists sharp temperature change, so that it allows online cleaning with water at ambient temperature.
5) Tightly sealed with no leakage
In conventional plate air preheaters, such as ceramic plate type & cast iron plate type, etc., the plate sheets are bolted and sealed with gaskets or sealing strips. During operation, the sealing material is apt to deform owing to the heat and causes gas or air leakage. For the air preheater developed by SMDERI, the plate sheets are welded together and sealed at both ends by sealing material, which will isolate the flue gas and air completely to ensure no leakage.
6) Modularized structure
All components of the enamel plate air preheater are pre-assembled as modules in workshop, which ensures good quality and convenient transportation and easy installation on site. To facilitate the selection, maintenance and service of users, the plate tubes or even plate air preheaters can be assembled like block-building as desired based on different thermal load and flue gas (air) flow rate.
7) Reliable quality assurance
The plate sheets are welded by automatic production line and argon-arc welding and then are enameled twice. Then the enameled plate sheets undergo temperature shock resistance test, high pressure test and corrosive resistance test to assure outstanding performance of enameled plates and a service life of over 8 years.
