SMDERI have been involved in research & development on decontamination of toxic & harmful waste gas and liquid over decades of years. Over 200 sets of various types of thermal oxidizers have been completed on EP / EPC basis.

Sulfur-containing Waste Thermal Oxidizer (Incinerator)

Applications: Treatment of S-containing waste generated from chemical plants, refineries and other facilities.
Sulfur-containing Waste Thermal Oxidizer is to handle the organic compositions and S-element contained in waste liquid by means of thermal oxidization, which converts the compositions of C and H contained in the organics into the pollution-free compositions: CO2 & H2O, converts S-element into SO2.
The S-containing Waste Thermal Oxidizer has to make a deacidification treatment for the sour flue gas, which is so called as flue gas desulfurization. There are three methods for flue gas desulfurization: wet desulfurization, dry desulfurization and semi-dry desulfurization. Most of the thermal oxidizers will generate small amount of flue gas in which the content of SO2 is changed in wide range, so the method of wet desulfurization shall be applied.
The normal desulfurizers to be used for the wet desulfurization include ammonia, double alkali, sodium alkali and limestone. The desulfurization process shall be determined according to the utility arrangement of the plant and the requirement of client.
During the design of the S-containing waste thermal oxidizer, the dew point corrosion on the equipment in touch with flue gas shall be considered. The design for the rear heated surface of waste heat recovery system shall be specially focused on.
During the design of the flue gas desulfurization system of the S-containing waste thermal oxidizer, the absorption of different absorbents to CO2 has to be considered as well. The PH value has to be controlled within a reasonable range.
