Steam differential pressure turbo-expander generator set
In recent years, increasingly greater importance is attached to energy saving and efficiency improvement in oil refining, chemical, metallurgy, steel and other industries. As one of the critical measures for energy saving and consumption reduction, industrial waste heat & pressure recovery has important social and economic benefit. For the purpose of process flow depressure in the industrial systems, usually throttle valve is used, but the depressure process by throttle valve will inevitably cause such problems as energy loss, increased power consumption, cavitation damage, reduced product ratio and etc.
The steam differential pressure turbo-expander generator set developed by SMDERI is an efficient energy saving device to replace the temperature and pressure reducer in the steam network of industrial systems. Taking advantage of the steam pressure difference, it drives the turbo-expander to realize almost isentropic depressuring process and recovers the residual pressure energy of steam to generate power to obtain substantial comprehensive benefit in energy saving and consumption reduction.
II Work principle/process
All HP steam entering the volute will evenly distribute the working medium to the nozzle ring along the flow channels inside the volute. After the nozzle, the working medium obtains acceleration and converts the pressure energy into kinetic energy and then it flows to the impeller radially. When the impeller performs external work, the pressure energy and kinetic energy are converted into the kinetic energy of rotor to drive it to run at high speed.
With work effect produced by almost isentropic expansion process of HP steam in the turbine, the steam differential pressure turbo-expander converts the energy contained in the HP steam into mechanical energy and delivers it through the main shaft so as to fulfill the residual pressure recovery.
